Eastfield Baseball Opens Season With Two Wins
Aidan Gebhart would not be denied at the plate when runners were on base Saturday, driving in four on two hits to lead Eastfield past Vernon 10-3 in game one. Gebhart drove in runs on a home run in the third, a walk in the fourth, and a double in the fifth.
After Vernon scored one run in the top of the sixth, Eastfield answered with one of their own on a solo homer by Angel Rodriguez.
Eastfield pulled away for good with five runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Gebhart drew a walk, scoring one run and Emilio Trevino homered on a 1-0 count, scoring four runs.
Chris Dickens earned the win on the mound for the Harvesters. The righty pitched 3.1 innings in relief allowing just one run.
There was plenty of action on the basepaths for Eastfield in game 2. (W 11-6)
Eastfield got things moving in the second inning. Ethan Jeske singled on a 2-0 count, scoring two runs.
Tyson Carlton led things off on the hill for Eastfield and earned the win 3 IP, 1ER, 1H, 4K.
Eastfield launched one home run in game two. Gus Witt went deep in the fifth inning.
Jeske went 2-3 at the plate to lead Eastfield in hits.
Eastfield will resume play Wednesday against Ranger College.
