Conway Chosen League Player of the Week
Dallas College Eastfield's Cade Conway has been named the Dallas Athletic Conference Baseball Offensive Player of the Week.
A sophomore center fielder from Paris, Texas, Conway batted .500 with two home runs, five RBI, eight runs scored, four walks and four stolen bases as the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III preseason No. 1-ranked Harvester Bees went 2-2 during the week.
Conway was 2-for-6 with an RBI in a 13-11 loss to NJCAA DI Paris Junior College. He went 3-for-5 with a stolen base and two runs scored in a 7-5 loss to Dallas College Richland to open a three-game set. He went 2-for-4 with a homer, while driving in a pair of runs, in an 8-3 victory over Richland to even the series at a game apiece. Conway wrapped up the week with a 3-for-5 day at the plate in which he homered and drove in two runs, while scoring three times in the series-clinching 13-12 victory over Richland.
Conway is batting .361 with four home runs, 24 RBI and 14 stolen bases this season.
Eastfield (14-6, 5-1 DAC) hosts Northeast Texas Community College Monday before beginning a three-game series at Dallas College Cedar Valley noon Wednesday. The final two games of the league series flips back to Eastfield for noon matinees Friday and Saturday.
