Palma Named National Player of Week
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Dallas College Eastfield third baseman Sebastian Palma was named the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III Player of the Week.
A sophomore from Dallas, Palma hit .438 with three home runs, three doubles, six runs batted in, six runs scored and two walks as the No. 3 nationally-ranked Harvester Bees won four of their first five games to open the season. He had two homers and a double, and drove in four runs in a season-ending 19-9 win over North Arkansas College to complete a four-game sweep. Earlier that day, he homered, doubled and had an RBI in a 7-1 in Game 1 of the doubleheader with North Arkansas. His first home run of the season came in a 3-2 win over North Arkansas to open the series, giving the Harvesters their first win this year. Palma went 1 for 3 with an RBI in the season opener at NJCAA Division I Weatherford College.
Eastfield hosts Dallas-Fort Worth Post Grad in a twin bill Wednesday before entertaining Des Moines Area Community College for a pair of doubleheaders Saturday and Sunday.
