Palma Collects Second DAC Hitter of Week Honor
IRVING, Texas – Dallas College Eastfield's Sebastian Palma was selected as the Dallas Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week.
It is the second time this season he's won the award.
A third baseman from Dallas, Palma batted .500, going 7 for 14, with three home runs, two doubles, 10 runs batted in, seven runs scored and a walk as the preseason No. 3-ranked Harvester Bees swept a three-game series from Dallas College Cedar Valley to begin conference play. Palma hit two homers, doubled, drove in five runs and went 4 for 5 in Game 1's seven-inning 12-2 run-rule victory. He had two hits, including a homer, and four RBI in a 22-20 slugfest in Game 3.
Palma leads the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III in home runs (9) and RBI (30), and is hitting .371 with an .829 slugging percentage this year.
Eastfield (15-4, 3-0 DAC) begins a three-game series with Dallas College Mountain View (6-10, 1-2) at noon Wednesday. The final two games Friday and Saturday are at Mountain View.
