No. 2 Eastfield Begins Series with No. 6 North Lake Wednesday

MESQUITE, Texas – Dallas College Eastfield's No. 2-ranked baseball team is scheduled to begin a three-game Dallas Athletic Conference series with No. 6 Dallas College North Lake 12 p.m. Wednesday.

The Harvester Bees (18-5, 6-0 DAC) occupy first place in the league after the first two conference series of the year. North Lake (14-9, 5-1) sits a game behind Eastfield. After sweeping Dallas College Mountain View last week, the Harvesters are coming off an 8-4 nonconference loss at Northeast Texas Community College Monday.

Bees right fielder Erik Aguirre went 2 for 3 with a home run, three runs batted in and a walk at NTCC (15-9). Second baseman Angel Gutierrez had two hits and a stolen base, and left fielder Keydren Majors drove in a run.

North Lake is riding a five-game winning streak, following Monday's 7-4 win over Joliet Junior College on a neutral site field at Panola College. The Blazers swept a three-game series from Dallas College Cedar Valley last week, winning two one-run games and the second of two 11-inning games by two runs.

Blazers third baseman Brayden McCallum went 3 for 4 with three RBI Monday. Shortstop Jesse Orozco was 3 for 5 with a double and two RBI.

Eastfield is 15-2 at home this season. North Lake is 5-5 on the road.
