Aguirre Named DAC Hitter of Week

IRVING, Texas – Dallas College Eastfield baseball's Erik Aguirre was named the Dallas Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week.

A sophomore outfielder from Pasadena, Texas, Aguirre batted .437, going 6 for 17 with two home runs, nine runs batted in, a double, five runs scored, a stolen base and two walks as No. 2 nationally-ranked Eastfield went 2-2 last week, winning a three-game series with No. 6 Dallas College North Lake. He homered, drove in three runs and was 2 for 3 in a nonconference game at Northeast Texas Community College to begin the week. Aguirre went 4 for 4 with a double, two RBI and a stolen base in the 10-2 Game 3 win over the Blazers to capture the series. He belted a solo homer and walked in the 7-3 Game 2 win at North Lake.

Aguirre is hitting .380 with six home runs, eight doubles, a triple, 29 RBI and eight stolen bases in 26 games this season.

League-leading Eastfield (20-6, 8-1 DAC) is scheduled to play a pair of doubleheaders at Baton Rouge Community College Friday and Saturday before returning to conference action Wednesday, March 25 at Dallas College Richland (14-10-1, 7-2).
