Palma Wins Third DAC Hitter of Week Honor

IRVING, Texas – Dallas College Eastfield's Sebastian Palma was named the Dallas Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week.

It is the third time this season he's collected the league weekly honor.

A sophomore third baseman from Dallas, Palma hit .461, going 6 for 13 with two home runs, two doubles, nine runs batted in, four runs scored, four walks and one stolen base as National Junior College Athletic Association Division III No. 2-ranked Eastfield went 3-1 at NJCAA Division I Baton Rouge Community College. He opened the four-game road series with a two-homer, six-RBI performance, going 3 for 4 with a double and a walk in a 16-6 win. Palma was 2 for 3 with two RBI and a walk in the 9-2 win to complete the first day's doubleheader sweep. He finished the week, going 1 for 3 with an RBI, stolen base and a walk in the 6-4 win in Game 4.

Palma is batting a team-best .386, while leading the country in home runs (13) and RBI (48).

Eastfield (23-7, 8-1 DAC) begins a three-game conference series at No. 15 Dallas College Richland (14-12-1, 7-2) noon Wednesday.
