Sheppard Named DAC Pitcher of Week

IRVING, Texas – Dallas College Eastfield's Benjamin Sheppard was named the Dallas Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week.

A sophomore left-hander from Forney, Texas, Sheppard tossed a complete game, allowing a run on five hits and no walks, and fanned a career-high nine batters as No. 2 Eastfield clinched its series with No. 15 Dallas College Richland in a 2-1 win.

Sheppard improved to 4-0 this season with one save, a 3.56 earned run average and 18 strikeouts in 30.1 innings pitched.

Eastfield (25-8, 10-2 DAC) begins a three-game series against Dallas College Brookhaven (14-18, 7-5) at home 12 p.m. Wednesday.
