Sasser Named DAC Hitter of Week

IRVING, Texas – Dallas College Easfield's Luke Sasser was named the Dallas Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week.

A sophomore outfielder from San Antonio, Sasser hit .500, going 8 for 16 with two doubles, a home run, eight runs batted in, eight runs scored, three stolen bases and three walks as the No. 1-ranked Harvester Bees went 3-1 last week, sweeping a DAC series from Dallas College Cedar Valley. Sasser was 4 for 5 with a double, a homer and four RBI in the series-clinching win to extend his hitting streak to 10 games. He went 2 for 4 with three RBI and a stolen base to open the series in a 13-3, seven-inning run-rule victory.

Sasser is batting .371 with five home runs, 13 doubles, a triple, 37 RBI and 23 stolen bases this season.

Following Monday's nonconference game against Navarro College, the Harvester Bees (30-10, 15-3 DAC) are set to begin a three-game series against Dallas College Mountain View Wednesday at home.
