Palma Pounds Way to 5th DAC Hitter of Week

Dallas College Easfield's Sebastian Palma was named the Dallas Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week.

It is the fifth time this season he's won the honor.

A sophomore third baseman from Dallas, Palma batted .533, going 8 for 15 with two home runs, a triple, double, seven runs batted in, 12 runs scored, seven walks and two stolen bases. Oh yeah, and he hit for the cycle in a 17-8 win over National Junior College Athletic Association Division I Navarro College. Palma went 4 for 4 with five RBI in the win over Navarro. He hit his NJCAA Division III-leading 19th home run of the season in the 11-4 win over Dallas College Mountain View to polish off a conference sweep. He hit safely in each of the four Harvester Bees' wins, extending his winning streak to 12 games.

Palma takes his .422 batting average and nation-leading 74 RBI into Monday's road game at Navarro.

NJCAA Division III No. 1-ranked Eastfield (34-10, 18-3 DAC) will meet No. 6 Dallas College North Lake (22-22, 12-9) in a three-game series scheduled to begin in Irving, Texas noon Wednesday. Eastfield will host the final two games Friday and Saturday on Alumni Weekend. All Harvester Bees baseball alumni are invited back, and players from the 2006 and 2011 national championship teams will be honored. Saturday's game has been designated as the DAC Game of the Week on the DAC Sports Network.
