Garza Returns to Eastfield as Head Baseball Coach

MESQUITE, Texas – Dallas College Eastfield named Ramon Garza as its next head baseball coach.

A former assistant coach with the Harvester Bees in 2024 when Eastfield advanced to the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III World Series national championship, Garza was part of a team that went 50-15. Garza was named an American Baseball Coaches Association Assistant Coach of the Year award winner that season.

"Dallas College Eastfield has long been synonymous with excellence," Garza said. "Having been part of that tradition as an assistant coach under coach (Michael) Martin, I am honored to return as head coach, and lead the next chapter of Harvester Bees baseball."

He began his head coaching career at Dallas College Mountain View in 2025, guiding the Lions to a 12-40 record and trip to the NJCAA Division III South Central District Tournament for the first time since 2019. After one season with the Lions, he accepted an assistant coaching role at George Washington University, which went 18-35 in 2026.

"We are super excited to announce the hire of Ramon Garza as the new baseball coach at Dallas College Eastfield," Eastfield Athletic Director Anthony Fletcher said. "Coach Garza built the Dallas College Mountain View team that won their first ever playoff games in school history this season."

Prior to his role as an assistant with Eastfield, Garza was a volunteer coach at the University of Texas at Dallas in 2023. The Comets went 25-19 overall, 15-12 in the American Southwest Conference that season, reaching league postseason tournament semifinals.

In 2022, he was the head coach of the Charlottesville Tom Sox, which won the Valley Baseball League championship.

Garza played two years at UT Dallas, earning NCAA Division III First Team All-American honors by D3Baseball.com as a senior. He was named Second Team All-American by the ABCA that season. His UT Dallas teams won back-to-back ASC titles in 2021 and 2022. He played three years at Cornell University from 2017-20 before transferring to UTD.

"Our commitment will remain the same: developing outstanding young men, creating academic and athletic opportunities and pushing the standard of excellence daily in the classroom, the community and in competition. I am proud to be back, representing this program and the Mesquite community."
