Reliford Named DAC Men's Basketball Player of Week

Dallas College Eastfield's Dwayne Reliford was chosen as the Dallas Athletic Conference men's basketball Player of the Week.

This is the second time this season he has won the award.

A 6-foot-6-inch freshman forward from Chicago, Reliford averaged 18.5 points, 12 rebounds, 3.5 steals, 2.5 assists and 1.5 blocks as the No. 10 nationally-ranked Harvester Bees won two league games last week. Reliford shot 58 percent from the field, going 7 of 12 in both games. He made all three three-point field goals he attempted in the two wins.

Against Dallas College Mountain View, he had 20 points, 11 rebounds, four steals, two assists and a block. He scored 17 points, had 13 rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks in Saturday's win over Dallas College Brookhaven.

Reliford has scored in double figures in the last nine games, and has four double-doubles this season. He is averaging 11.6 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.1 steals per game, while shooting 54.7 percent from the field and 41.2 percent from the 3-point line.

Eastfield will play at No. 8 Dallas College Richland 6 p.m. Wednesday at host No. 2 Dallas College North Lake 1 p.m. Saturday.
