Eastfield Men’s Basketball Wins in Arizona

MESQUITE, Texas — The Eastfield Men's Basketball team notched their first two wins of the season at the Pima Classic at Pima Community College this weekend. 

Led by sophomore guard LaMondrick Johnson's game-high 25 points, and Dwayne Reliford's double-double in the paint, the Harvester Bees put together back-to-back dominant performances against NJCAA Division II opponents Glendale Community College and Mesa Community College, winning 87-68 and 86-74, respectively, after dropping their first to Pima, 128-82. 

While pleased with the Bees' play, Eastfield Head Coach Dexter Young was more impressed with the teamwork and perseverance his team displayed.

"This is still a new team," Young said. "Losing the early games to Division I schools could've been a setback, but this team locked in, played hard, and stayed together. This trip gave them a chance to bond and further develop their chemistry on and off of the court. We only get better from here."
