Eastfield Trips up Cedar Valley 83-65

LANCASTER, Texas – Dallas College Eastfield's 10th-ranked men's basketball team beat Dallas College Cedar Valley 83-65 Saturday to wrap up the first round of Dallas Athletic Conference action.  

Eastfield (12-6, 4-1 DAC) is in second place in the league, a game behind No. 2 Dallas College Richland (12-6, 5-0). 

Braydon Campbell scored 20 points, and had five assists and two steals for the Harvester Bees. He was 10 for 10 at the free throw line. Martez James had 16 points and seven rebounds. David Uwalaka finished with 15 points, nine boards, two steals and a blocked shot. Montreal Chalmers scored nine points off the bench. Ricky Wilson added seven rebounds, five assists and two steals. 

Eastfield led by four at halftime, but outscored Cedar Valley 48-34 after the break to win comfortably. The Harvesters outrebounded the Suns 44-21. 

Marcel Hurst scored 17 points for Cedar Valley (3-14, 0-5). Aviyon Bell had 15 points and two steals. J'Ylon Nobles had 10 points, four rebounds and two steals. 

The Bees shot 47.7 percent from the field, going 31 of 65. The Suns were 19 of 52 for 36.5 percent. Eastfield sank 20 of 25 free throws. Cedar Valley went 22 for 32 at the line.
