James Collects Second League Player of Week Honor
IRVING, Texas – Dallas College Eastfield's Martez James has been named the Dallas Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week.
It is the second time this season he's received the honor.
A 6-foot-5 sophomore forward from The Woodlands, Texas, James averaged 16 points, 12.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in a pair of wins for the No. 8 Harvester Bees. He had 17 points and nine rebounds, including five on the offensive glass, while going 7 of 8 from the free throw line in a three-point win at Dallas College Mountain View in last week's DAC Game of the Week. One night later, he finished with 15 points, 16 boards, three blocks, three assists and a steal in a 10-point win over Dallas College Brookhaven at home. He matched his season high in rebounds and blocks in the victory over Brookhaven.
James is averaging a double-double at 15.3 points and 10.2 rebounds per game. He ranks fourth among National Junior College Athletic Association Division III leaders in offensive rebounds per game (5.2).
Eastfield (14-6, 6-1 DAC) will play at Dallas College North Lake (13-8, 5-2) at 6 p.m. Thursday.
