No. 6 Harvesters Knock Off No. 1 Thunderducks

MESQUITE, Texas – Dallas College Eastfield's sixth-ranked men's basketball team upset No. 1 Dallas College Richland 77-54 in the penultimate game of the regular season Wednesday.

The Harvester Bees (19-8, 11-3 Dallas Athletic Conference) handed the Thunderducks (20-7, 13-1) their first loss since Nov. 21, snapping Richland's 16-game winning streak.

Eastfield, which won its fifth straight game, finished second in the DAC, earning a quarterfinal bye in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III South Central District Tournament. The Harvester Bees will play the highest remaining seed in the semifinals 7 p.m. next Friday at Richland.

The Harvesters shot 61 percent against the Thunderducks, going 25 of 41 from the floor.

Braydon Campbell scored 28 points on 11-of-12 shooting. He had four assists, four rebounds and a steal. David Uwalaka was the only other Eastfield player in double figures. He scored 14 points, while going 8 for 8 at the free throw line.

Eastfield led 40-23 at halftime.

Aiden White finished with nine points, six rebounds and a steal for the Bees. Ricky Wilson had six points, 11 boards, two blocks and two steals. Martez James added six points, eight rebounds and two steals off the bench.

It was Eastfield's final home game of the season. The Harvester Bees went 14-1 on their home court.
