James Selected to Play in NJCAA All-Star Game

NJCAA ALL-STAR GAME

LAS VEGAS – Dallas College Eastfield's Martez James was selected to participate in the National Junor College Athletic Association Men's Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Game May 9 at Cox Pavilion.

The game tips off at 6:30 p.m. CT.

A sophomore forward from The Woodlands, Texas, James was an NJCAA Division III Honorable Mention All-American. He scored 14.7 points, and grabbed 10.7 rebounds per game in his one season with the Harvester Bees, who advanced to the national tournament for the first time since 2022. James recorded 19 double-doubles this season.

He scored in double figures in 26 of the 31 games, and had over 20 in four. He put up a career-high 27 points, going 12 of 16 from the field, in a 20-point win over Temple College Nov. 25. His 18 rebounds in a national consolation round win over Northampton Community College also was a career best.

James is one of 26 players selected for the three-division NJCAA All-Star Game. He is one of three NJCAA Division III players invited to participate.
