Darnell Hugee was named assistant men's basketball coach at Dallas College Eastfield in November 2024.

Hugee coached on a team that went 21-10 overall, 12-3 in the Dallas Athletic Conference in 2025-26, earning a trip to the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III National Tournament. The Harvester Bees won their consolation game at the national tournament after finishing second in the league to earn a bye into the NJCAA Division III South Central District semifinals in the postseason tournament. Braydon Campbell received NJCAA Division III Third Team All-America recognition, while Martez James was an Honorable Mention All-American. 

In his first season with the program, the Harvester Bees went went 8-22 overall, 5-10 in the Dallas Athletic Conference. The Harvester Bees advanced to the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III South Central District semifinals after beating host Dallas College Brookhaven in the quarterfinals. The Bees beat the top two teams in the DAC during the regular season, coming up with wins over Dallas College Richland and Dallas College North Lake. Delkedric Holmes was named First Team All-DAC.
