Dallas College Eastfield women's soccer team posted a 4-1 win over Dallas College North Lake to open Dallas Athletic Conference play.
The Harvester Bees came out strong with a three-goal lead heading into the second half. La Reina Reyna found the back of the net twice in the first half. La Reina was the beneficiary of two nifty assists -- one from Hayley Torres and the other from Marlene Valenzuela. The third goal came from center back Jocelyne Mendoza, who burried the ball into the back of the net off a corner kick from Vanessa Ruiz.
In the second half Hayley Torres got her second assist of the game, giving a great ball to freshman Juliana Martinez, who made a great cut on the ball, and chipped the keeper from about 25 yards out. That made the final score 4-1 Eastfield.
"It was a great team effort," Bees coach Paul Tate said. "We have been working hard with the ladies, and tonight it paid off for them."
