MESQUITE, Texas – Dallas College Eastfield's volleyball team honored its 2023 National Junior College Athletic Association Division III National Championship team at a ring ceremony Monday on campus in front of family and Harvester Bees supporters.
"It's something that no one can ever take away from you, and it's something that you should be proud of for the rest of your life," Harvester Bees head coach Phil Nickel told his players before handing out the rings.
Eastfield went 35-0 to capture the second national title in program history. The Bees dropped six sets all season, and became the first NJCAA Division III team to go unbeaten and win a national championship.
"Everything fell in place," Eastfield Athletic Director Anthony Fletcher said. "This was a special season."
The Harvester Bees beat Century College, 3-0, to win the national title in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. It came six years after the Bees won the national title in 2017.
"We're still pumped up about it," Eastfield President Dr. Eddie Tealer said. "We are so excited about the history that they have made."
