Doiron, Cole Claim Final DAC Players of Week

IRVING, Texas – Dallas College Eastfield's Taryn Doiron and Ava Cole were named the final Dallas Athletic Conference Volleyball Players of the Week of this season. Doiron is the Offensive Player of the Week, while Cole earned the Defensive Player of the Week honor.

Both players began and finished the season with the same honors. Cole collected the defensive award for the fourth time this season.

A 5-9 sophomore setter from Orange, Texas, Doiron had 57 assists, seven aces, two blocks, seven kills and 15 digs in a pair of sweeps as the top-ranked Harvester Bees finished the regular season unbeaten in the DAC. She averaged 9.5 assists per set, and the Bees' offense put away 13.5 kills per set, while hitting .286 in the 3-0 wins over Dallas College Cedar Valley and No. 11 Dallas College Brookhaven. She matched her career-high with five aces in the win over Brookhaven to end the regular season. 

Doiron leads the nation in assists (997) and assists per set (11.2) this season.

A 5-6 sophomore libero from Royse City, Texas, Cole averaged 5.2 digs per set, while playing five sets in the two sweeps. She had 19 digs in the win over Brookhaven, and finished the week with 26.

Cole's 400 digs this season are 15th among National Junior College Athletic Association Division III leaders.

Eastfield (28-1) hosts the NJCAA Division III South District Tournament Wednesday-Saturday. The Harvester Bees received a quarterfinal bye, and will play in Friday's 5:30 p.m. semifinals.
