Santos, Smith Earn DAC Players of Week

IRVING, Texas – Dallas College Eastfield's Mia Santos and Kira Smith have been selected as the Dallas Athletic Conference Volleyball Players of the Week. 

Santos repeated as the league's Offensive Player of the Week, while Smith was chosen as the DAC Defensive Player of the Week. 

A sophomore from Forney, Texas, Santos averaged 12.5 kills per match, and hit .357 against National Junior College Athletic Association Division III No. 14 Joliet Junior College and .375 against No. 4 College of DuPage at the Chaparral Invitational in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. She had 14 kills against Joliet and 12 against DuPage, while putting up double-digit kills in each of the four No. 1 Harvester Bees' sweeps. 

A freshman middle blocker from Fort Worth, Texas, Smith had 11 blocks in the weekend tournament. She had five blocks in the 3-0 win over DuPage. She had two blocks against No. 6 Caldwell Tech. Smith also hit .340 in the four matches, putting away 5.75 kills per match. 

Eastfield (11-1) hosts Southwestern Christian College and Lee College Friday.
