Santos, Gibson Named DAC Players of Week

IRVING, Texas – Dallas College Eastfield's Mia Santos and Patience Gibson were named the Dallas Athletic Conference Volleyball Players of the Week.

A 5-foot-9 sophomore outside hitter from Forney, Texas, Santos hit .311 with 18 kills, seven aces and two blocks in wins over No. 15 Dallas College Richland and Dallas College Cedar Valley. She had 12 kills, and hit .321 in the sweep of Richland. She had five aces in the sweep of Cedar Valley.

Santos is averaging 4.06 kills per set, while hitting .250 this season.

Gibson, a 5-6 freshman libero from Royse City, Texas, had 38 digs, two aces and 10 assists in the two wins. She had 19 digs in each match. She averaged 6.3 digs per set.

Gibson is averaging 4.94 digs per set with 321 this season.

Eastfield (19-1, 4-0 DAC) will host Dallas College Mountain View 6 p.m. Monday to complete the first round of league play.
