Santos, Smith Named DAC Players of Week

Dallas College Eastfield's Mia Santos and Kira Smith were chosen as the Dallas Athletic Conference Volleyball Players of the Week. Santos earned the league's Offensive Player of the Week. Smith is the Defensive Player of the Week.

Santos, a sophomore outside hitter from Forney, Texas, hit .388 with 33 kills, 20 digs, a block and an ace as the No. 1-ranked Harvester Bees beat Dallas College Mountain View and No. 11 Dallas College Brookhaven. She averaged 4.7 kills per set. In the win over Brookhaven, Santos had 23 kills and 15 digs, and hit .413.

Smith, a freshman middle blocker from Fort Worth, Texas, had 10 blocks, seven kills and four digs in the two wins. She averaged 1.67 blocks per set. She had a solo block and five block assists in the win over Brookhaven.

Eastfield (21-1, 6-0 DAC) will host Dallas College North Lake (10-12, 3-3) at 6 p.m. Monday.
